JIM SEGERSTROM MEMORIAL SERVICE


Jim's Memorial Service will be Saturday 17 February, 1pm at:

We are aware that there will be several attendees from out of state and country. Many have inquired if you could display your state/country flag. We welcome the opportunity to accommodate as many flags as possible to support your organization.

You may bring your flag with you and they will be set up at the reception facility. Flags will need to be in our possession by February 16th, Friday morning. We recommend that agencies send your flag or insignia to the following address to allow us time to install during our designated set up time...

Schedule of the Service:

Our planned service begins at the staging area at Sonora High School, time and your participation to be determined (update when info available). A procession will travel to the Sierra Bible Church and the Service will begin promptly at 1pm. A series of special presentations, including Color Guard, Speakers, Honor Guard and an audio visual will take place. We are limited to 3 speakers. An opportunity will be provided at the reception to speak. The service will continue to the outdoors where we will honor Jim with a 21 gun salute, Taps and a fly over of Helicopters.

Reception Information:

Shriee Segerstrom and Family would like to invite everyone to join them at a reception in Jim's honor that is scheduled immediately after the services @ approximately 3pm.

The reception will be held at the Sonora Fair Grounds Main Hall on Stockton Rd. . There will be a Tri-tip dinner, along with music, memorabilia from Jim's Family, SAR Team and Friends, including videos running on Jim's recent classes.

Additionally, everyone will have an opportunity to send Jim's family a video of you and friends telling all of the wonderful stories that you have experienced with Jim over the past years.

So, don't be shy, we hope to see everyone there.

Area Information:

For those who are not sure where Sonora is, look at a California Map and find Yosemite National Park near central California. Sonora is just Northeast of the park.

Airports: We recommend Sacramento International Airport if you are flying in. Bay area traffic is a site to be seen. If you are willing to fight the traffic, either San Francisco International, Oakland or San Jose are other possibilities.

From Sacramento International. Take Interstate 5 south towards Sacramento. Once you cross the river follow the signs to Hwy 99 south (Stockton/Fresno). Proceed on 99 south to the city of Manteca and take the Hwy 108/120 off ramp towards Yosemite. Continue to follow signs to Oakdale/Sonora. Once in Oakdale, turn left on Yosemite (108/120) and follow signs to Sonora. Continue through Jamestown and on the bypass. You are now in the Sonora area. Stay on the bypass until it dead ends and turn right. Continue straight through stoplight (Standard Rd.) and when it dead ends Sierra Bible Church is across Tuolumne Rd.(baseball fields on your right).

From the Bay Area Airports: Locate Interstate 580 East on your map and continue through several Cities and small passes. Once you are passing through Livermore you will be traveling over the Altamont pass. Stay in the left lanes and the Hwy turns into Hwy 205. Continue east to Interstate 5 North and stay in the right hand lane and get on the Manteca bypass (signs to Yosemite) to 99 North. Stay in the right hand lane to next off ramp (Hwy 108/120, Sonora/Oakdale) and turn right (east). Continue to follow signs to Oakdale/Sonora. Once in Oakdale, turn left on Yosemite (108/120) and follow signs to Sonora. Continue through Jamestown and on the bypass. You are now in the Sonora area. Stay on the bypass until it dead ends and turn right. Continue straight through stoplight (Standard Rd.) and when it dead ends Sierra Bible Church is across Tuolumne Rd.(baseball fields on your right).
